Huawei's Honor brand appears all set to expand its range in India with the launch of the Honor 7X. The new smartphone has now been listed on Amazon India as an exclusive offering and registrations have started ahead of any launch details. The Chinese company had previously reported to bring the Honor 7X to the country sometime in December through its online and offline retail channel partners.
Amazon has listed the Honor 7X without explicitly mentioning any details about its price or availability. However, the terms and conditions page of its prior registration campaign suggests that the new Honor smartphone will go on sale sometime in the last week of December, following the closure of the registration window. The Chinese company is giving away some prizes to select registrants. Interestingly, the list of winners will be announced on January 8, which could be the date from when the Honor 7X will go on sale in the country.
Debuted in China last month, the Honor 7X is the successor to the Honor 6X. The smartphone has a thin-bezel, 5.93-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) resolution. The dual-SIM handset is powered by an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 659 chipset, along with 4GB of RAM. It packs a 3340mAh battery and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.1 custom skin.
The Honor 7X sports a dual-camera setup with 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors on the rear and an 8-megapixel camera sensor on the front. The smartphone comes in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants; all have expandable storage via microSD card (up to 256GB) through a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
In an interview with the media, Honor's Global President George Zhao teased an "unbeatable price" for the Honor 7X - without confirming any exact price information. The executive also pointed out online and offline availability, though the latest listing suggests an Amazon Exclusive sale at the initial stage.
The 32GB Honor 7X is available in China at CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs. 12,800), while its 64GB model is priced at CNY 1,699 (approximately Rs. 16,700) and the top-of-the-line variant is available at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 19,700). All the three versions come in Gold, Aurora Blue and Black colour options.
