The ongoing trend in the Indian market is 4G VoLTE supported feature phones. Earlier this year, when Reliance Jio was rumoured to be working on a 4G VoLTE feature phone, Lava has launched India’s first 4G feature phone.
Later in July 2017, Reliance Jio announced its own feature phone called Reliance JioPhone, which turned the tables and also forced domestic handset brands to launch 4G VoLTE feature phones. Take a look at the 4G VoLTE feature phones available to purchase in India.
1) Reliance JioPhone
At its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in July 2017, Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) launched India’s smartest feature phone called JioPhone Effectively priced at Rs. 0, the JioPhone has changed the entire feature phone scenario of the Indian market.
The JioPhone offers a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, and a 2000mAh battery. It runs KaiOS and comes with popular Jio apps preinstalled and has support for NFC as well.
2) Micromax Bharat 1
Micromax is the latest brand to join the 4G VoLTE Feature Phone bandwagon with the Bharat 1 feature phone. Priced at Rs. 2,200, this feature phone from Micromax comes bundled with an optional BSNL tariff plan of Rs. 97 which gives unlimited voice calls and 5GB high-speed data for 28 days.
The Micromax Bharat 1 feature similar specifications as the Reliance JioPhone- a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Snapdragon 205 dual-core chipset, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP selfie camera, and a 2000mAh battery. The Bharat 1 runs a forked version of Android, thus by it offers all the essential features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
3) Intex Turbo+ 4G
Aforesaid, almost all the domestic brands launched a 4G supported feature phone. In August 2017, Intex has launched a feature phone dubbed as Intex Turbo+ 4G, and as the name itself suggests, this phone supports 4G LTE and VoLTE.
Having said that, the specifications of the Intex Turbo+ 4G also comes with similar specifications as the other two feature phones in the list. The Turbo+ 4G features a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, 512MB RAM, dual-core processor, and a 2000mAh battery. The Intex Turbo+ 4G is priced at Rs. 1,999.
4) Lava Connect M1
Earlier this year, Lava became the first manufacturer to launch a 4G VoLTE supported smartphone in India. Priced at Rs. 3,499 (now available at Rs. 2,999), this phone runs a forked version of Android and has all the essential connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.
It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2.4-inch QVGA display, 512MB of RAM, 1750mAh battery, and a 0.3MP camera is present at the back of the phone.
